Abstract

In this article a new continuous probability distribution is proposed by using the T-X family of distributions method. Pareto and length-biased exponential distribution are used as base line distributions. Various statistical including moments, mode, median, quantile function, entropies and several reliability properties such as reliability function, hazard rate function, reversed hazard function, cumulative hazard function, mean residual function, odd function, mills ratio and elasticity along with density and HRF graphs are presented. Parameters estimated by the maximum likelihood estimation and a simulation study is presented for the five estimation methods. Finaly to see the practicality of the model the proposed model is applied on the flood data.
