Abstract

This paper examines the impact of women entrepreneurs on the peacebuilding process in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, in the aftermath of 9/11. The study investigates how entrepreneurial activities led by women contribute to socio-economic development in a region historically affected by insecurity and political instability. Using interpretivist approach and by analysing data from in-depth semi-structured interviews, this study identifies patterns of resilience, community engagement, and socio-economic empowerment as crucial factors in fostering peace. The results demonstrate that women entrepreneurs play a pivotal role in enhancing social cohesion and economic stability, positioning entrepreneurship as a vital tool for peacebuilding. Furthermore, this study contributes to the broader discourse on gender and peacebuilding by emphasizing the transformative potential of women-led entrepreneurial initiatives in conflict-affected regions.
